Tea has come to tell you a story — its story.
“Many people are my lovers, that’s why I want to tell you something which will save you from sacrificing me – for nothing.
.
My truth.
I am one, and only one. But I get different names based on how you treat my leaves after harvesting!!
.
Coming to some facts —-
Bed tea/coffee?
Seems like many people just cannot kick-start their day without me. But, did you ever wonder what happens to your pearly whites and your gut (which is your everything) before having a cup of me?
With a goodnight’s sleep and sleepy metabolism at stake, it advisable that you don’t begin your metabolism with me; because I have some mild diuretic properties i.e., dehydrating properties. Since you will have had almost no water or food for the whole night, starting the day with me is not a good idea. Instead having water, fruits, or soaked dried fruits is a healthy thing to do. You can savor me a little later.
I may leave behind some stains on your teeth. Don’t worry, modern dentistry is there to help, so a regular visit to your dentist can help you ward off the stains.
Can you brush your teeth immediately after a cuppa?
No, you shouldn’t: because I am acidic in nature and, hence, may weaken your teeth enamel leading to erosion, sensitive teeth, and many more related issues.
Then, coming to having water before or after a cup of me —
I say both options are good🤭.
YES – logically both are good.
Here is why👇
Having water before tea (traditional practice) is good because it dilutes the stomach acid. Since, I am acidic too, drinking a glass of water before having tea can help in the prevention of ulcers, cancers, etc.
Ok…what about water after (me)?
Yes, but not immediately. You can have water after 10-15 minutes as I may cause some dehydration, therefore, drinking water after tea decreases the risk of dehydration.
You can have 1-2 cups of me every day, and also opt for a lighter version as it leaves behind relatively fewer stains.
Lastly , what about me after meals?
Many people have a habit of drinking tea after meals – but is it okay ??
I say NO!
Because,
- I, being acidic, can make your meal indigestible, and can also trigger constipation.
- I hinder your nutrients absorption – especially iron, zinc, and calcium – which are most important for our immunity.
So, make a habit of not having me at least up to an hour before, and after meals. Since we have learned more about immunity during this corona pandemic, and also you got to know that I may hinder your minerals absorption which is required for your immunity, it’s a definite NO!
I understand that for many people, whether it’s happiness or sadness, stress, or celebration, the answer to everything is a cup of heavenly me.
But, please do consider the merits and demerits and have me wisely to get the maximum benefits (of me).”
Dedicated to all the tea lovers.
