Immunity boosting decoction

Alone we can do so little, together we can do so much. Traditionally used ancient medicinal ingredients will help to boost immunity. 

Some of them include cinnamon, pepper, turmeric, and dry ginger(shunti). Grind all the ingredients into a fine powder. Add a pinch of each to 1 cup of water.  Boil the mixture for 2 minutes on medium flame, drink it before going to bed.

  • The mixture (combination) of these four ingredients works as a wonder medicine. It primarily helps combat infection of the respiratory tract while also promoting digestion

Turmeric:
  • One of the most popular kitchen items, turmeric supports the immune system in many ways because of the medicinal component “curcumin”. 
  • It helps in respiration, and in expectoration of healthy lungs, and enables effective movement of beneficial bacteria that can compete with bad bacteria in the respiratory tract.
  • Boosts the stimulation of natural antioxidants in the liver and brain. Inhibits stiffness and strengthens joints.
  • Increases production of stem cells (special human cell with ability to develop into many different types of muscle and brain cells). 
  • Helps in blood thinning and purification (Persons taking anti-platelet or anti-coagulant medicine are advised to exercise caution). 
  • When mixed with pepper, turmeric increases its bioavailability.
  • It works on digestive, respiratory, circulatory female reproductive system
Cinnamon:
  • It increases insulin sensitivity that allows more sugar to enter the cell thereby reducing HbA1c (Glycated Hemoglobin) and fasting plasma levels.

Pepper:
  • Pepper is used as medicinal seed, and as a flavoring agent in Indian kitchens. 
  • It has a medicinal component called “piperine” which helps to fight with infection.
  • The subtle effect (property?) of pepper helps reduce inflammation of the body.
  • The combination of turmeric and pepper has a high medicinal quality.
  • This wonder herb can be used in day-to-day life by adding it to tea, salads, raitha (curd mixed with veggies), lemonades, etc., to enhance the taste as well as to boost immunity.
Shunti(dry ginger):
  • Ginger the universal spice which acts as Adding agent for many illnesses. 
  • Nutritional value of ginger increases when it is sun-dried.
  • It soothes the lower digestive system and, acts as food for the gut microbes.
  • Kills bad microbes during illnesses like cold, cough, and sinus.
  • Reduces inflammation throughout the body.
